Looters
Much devastation has been brought on by the recent catastrophe, Hurricane Sandy. While you might think such a disaster would bring people together, it has brought out the worst in some people. Looters have taken over in parts of New York, stealing whatever they can from stores that are vulnerable from storm damages. This is all too common in today's world. People have learned to take advantage of other people's bad situations and that is wrong. While some people may take food, others are stealing things that they do not need. Stuff such as televisions and other electronics. People also have broken into houses without power and smashed car windows in to steal from. Police said, "In Jersey City, Carteret, Glen Ridge, Ventnor and Seaside Heights, there were even more doors kicked in, car windows smashed and storefronts with spidered glass." People are not stealing because they are in need. They are stealing to cause even more havoc throughout the city. In today's world it is common for people to be radical and completely unconcerned with the needs and well being of others. You think about yourself and only yourself and don't waste a thought on how your actions can effect the people around you. It is sad to me how far people can go to satisfy there own selfish desires.
